Turkey?
Great Britain could not financially support Greece and Turkey and withdrew their aid from the countries. Greece was facing economic and political troubles and Turkey had a weak government and felt pressure from the U.S.S.R. for communism so the U.S. felt the responsibility to help the two countries.

If one state fell from communism, it would spread to surrounding countries. This was stated by Acheson. This relates to the circumstance because if Greece and Turkey fell form communism then the other countries such Iran would eventually fall.

When the U.S. decided to help Greece and Turkey with the pressure from the U.S.S.R., they left isolationism and it marked the beginning of financially aiding countries that felt pressure from communisim.
