Scopes Monkey Trial: Economic, Social, Political
Economic: Economically, the Scopes Monkey Trial did not have much affect on the U.S but John T. Scopes was fined $100.
Social: There was a social division between the people after the Scopes Money Trial. They were split into Fundamentalists (people who believed in the Bible and that they were created in God's image) and Modernists (people who believed in the Darwinian theory of evolution). The people were basically split from religion and science.
Political: It opened up debate on whether or not it was constitutional for the government to say teachers couldn't teach a common theory because it (supposedly) contradicts a religion. Since the Monkey Trials ultimately failed, they didn't have much immediate impact besides awareness. But they did open up the dialog on a broader level, lending some foundation to future civil rights.
